Terms of sale and use

Effective 21 September 2026. Emailyst is made by Odibert Eid, trading as Odibert ("I", "me"), and sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record: your receipt comes from them, and their terms apply to the payment itself. Everything else here is between you and me.

What you are buying

A licence key that unlocks the full version of Emailyst, a macOS application, for version 1 - every 1.x release, past and future, at no extra cost. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. A version 2, if there ever is one, would be a separate product offered to version 1 owners at a discounted upgrade price; your version 1 licence never stops working.

How many Macs

One licence covers up to three Macs that you personally use. Each Mac registers itself with my licence server when you enter the key; you can release a Mac from Emailyst's Licence panel to free its place for another. Sharing a key with other people is not permitted, and a key found to be shared widely may be deactivated.

Requirements

Emailyst needs an Apple silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS 26 or newer, with your accounts set up in Apple Mail. It relies on the on-device language model built into macOS; it cannot run on Intel Macs or earlier systems. The free version lets you confirm it works on your machine before you buy - please do.

Refunds

If Emailyst is not for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and you will get a full refund, no questions asked. A refund deactivates the licence key. Refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy (or PayPal, for licences bought before the store opened) and take a few business days to appear.

What Emailyst does, and what it does not

Emailyst reads the mail already on your Mac, suggests which messages are junk, and - only when you tell it to, or on a schedule you set up - moves them to a folder you chose in your own mail account. It never deletes mail. Anything it moves can be moved back. It works on your Mac only; nothing about your mail is sent to me or anyone else (see the privacy policy).

Its judgements come from a language model and will sometimes be wrong. That is why every move is reversible, and why the app shows you each move first unless you switch on automatic filing - in which case you are choosing to let it file mail on its own judgement, to a folder you chose. You remain responsible for what you choose to move or to automate, and for checking a folder before you empty it.

Updates

The app checks for updates and offers them; installing is your choice. Updates are signed and notarized by Apple.

Warranty and liability

Emailyst is provided as is. I do my best to make it reliable, and I will help you if something goes wrong, but I cannot promise it is free of bugs, that its judgement about any message will be right, or that it suits every mailbox. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from its use, including loss of mail or data, and in any event my liability is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

Using the app is also governed by the licence agreement shown in the app on first launch, which carries the full disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability.

Licence key and server

Activating a key sends the key and a scrambled identifier of your Mac to my licence server, which returns a signed licence for that Mac. Once activated, the app checks in with the server about once a day and keeps working for a month without a connection. A licence that has been refunded, or a key that has been deactivated for abuse, will stop working at the next check.

Changes

I may update these terms; the date at the top says when. Changes never take away a licence you have already bought.
